THE HARRY MOSELEY BALL HAS BEEN CHANGED TO THE 19 OCTOBER 2012.

PLEASE UPDATE YOUR DIARIES.

Upon advice from our media partners and supporters that, logistically, the event would benefit from a date change, and upon learning that a few of the Charity's ambassadors could not make the August date, the decision has been made to re-schedule to Ball.

19 October 2012, the ICC, Birmingham - save the date.

So where are we??

OK! Magazine are covering the event - pretty special eh? Smile for the camera!!

The Birmingham Business Desk are our online media partners...

Free Radio are getting involved....(more details to follow)..

Special guests have been invited and acts are being sorted..

Signature Outdoor have donated a billboard campaign across the city centre..

And today we have been hanging out with Ben Shephard, James and Oliver Phelps, Tom Ross., etc - not the normal Thursday morning that we are used to.

So...

Spread the word - www.harryscharityball.com - tables of start from £1,000 - 19 October 2012.

This is going to be amazing.  Lets have a great night, network with Birmingham's finest, hang with Harry's famous friends, and raise both awareness and money for this worthwhile and local cause.

#making it happen.

HARRY'S HELPERS GROW IN NUMBERS....

Happy Valentines Day y'all!! Hope you've had a good un..

I've cooked soup (can you cook soup??), then Steak and then opened a packet of Peanut M&Ms for the wife @jamo79, so hope I've done enough to keep me in the good books...;)

I am writing this whilst watching "Big Fat Gypsy Wedding" and I'm still not sure what to make of that programme.

The lads fight, the girls dirty dance and the 'grabbing' leaves a lot to be desired.  However, it would appear that after the layers of foundation and the bravado are removed, it would appear that there exists a community based on some sort of 'christian code'; they are god-fearing, respectful to their elders and seem to be happy.  There must be issues that many may have concerning these travellers, and dare I say, I would hate to cross any of the 'burly-buggers'.  However, and from a 'fly-on-the-wall's' point of view, all seems fun!!  Especially now I'm onto my third large glass of Valentine's Shiraz.  Yummy...

Back to Harry...and it would seem that the topic of the day is not wedding dresses, mahoosive cakes and scantily-clad guests, but DONATIONS.

People are approaching me thick and fast to see how they can help and a few more have been confirmed today.

The super talented Deborah Moses at the Silver Zebra @TheSilverZebra ...

has said that she will donate a piece of amazing glassware worth £400 as one of the evening's auction lot. The piece will be a 'bowl of marbles' which is quite fitting in that, to me, it represents Harry's bracelet beads.

I am hopeful that this should raise some serious money - I may even put a bid in myself as her work is truly spectacular....go and have a look !!!

The remarkably quaint and lovely George @jorgieporgie from DainsintheCommunity, and Dains, the regional firm of accountants and business advisors...

have donated an awesome luxury champagne spa day for two at a stunning Birmingham 5 star hotel...another remarkable donation which will raise some serious money for Harry's fund.  Check their services out here

The fun does not stop there.....

Terry Eleftheriou from TerryTerry Accessories @terry_terry ...

will be donating jewellry from their new range for the Ball's raffle and will also be helping me sell tickets....This kind hearted chap's range can be seen here.

Thank you to you all....a MASSIVE TIP OF THE HAT TO YOU...

More updates to follow - don't forget to add me on @BRUMMIE_PJ - and remember that all the work done so far has been achieved without a single email sent...Just waiting for the relevant sign offs and once emails are sent out I am certain more details will be released thick and fast....

As for ticket prices, many many many many people have been asking me how much these will be..

Nothing has been confirmed yet, and I am still working on the menu costings, but I am trying really hard to work out the correct pricing-structure to enable the ball to be accessible whilst also enabling us all to raise thousands of pounds for such a awesome cause.

A few conversations with the more experienced event-planners suggest that there will be 3 levels of table-prices...

Each table will seat 10, each guest will be able to access a one-hours free champagne reception, there will then be a swanky 3 course meal with wine, followed by a charity auction, special guests and awesome entertainment....all at the truly amazing ICC.  Tables will be pin spot-lit and it will look amazing:

It will be a great opportunity to dust off that black tie and/or little black dress, party in style and raise awareness for an amazing cause.

Tables of ten will start at around £1,000 raising to £1,500 for more corporate-biased tables (with branding, advertisement etc).  Might sound alot but it's once a year and will go a long way to keep Harry's dream alive..Individual tickets will also be available.

Specific details will follow.

Spread the love!!

SPREADING THE LOVE....

I still cannot believe the overwhelming response I have had since I decided to organise the Charity Ball for Harry.

I am sure Kat who is helping me will agree!!! Oh, by the way, we should all follow Kat on Twitter - she's new to it so be gentle!! ;) @katfrost1981.

All of the calls, emails, tweets etc that we have received so far just goes to show what an awesome little boy Harry was.

A quick telephone call with Catherine from the Birmingham Mail and there was an awesome full page spread on Page 4....

There were then online pieces from:

and the Birmingham Mail.

Matt from the Birmingham Express and Star has also done a piece on the event and both he and Catherine said they will continue to write update articles.

This was on top of Twitter going wild and amazing mentions on some of the top blogs, our favourite being from the wonderful Fashion Mommy.

The lovely Emma behind Fashion Mommy has gone that extra mile and pointed local companies in my directions, all of which are willing to help with donations for the charity auction....

It really is all coming together very nicely and this is even before one 'official' email has been sent.  This has all happened through the love everyone has for such an inspiring and brilliant boy and also his fantastic and worthwhile cause.

Bring on the 24th August 2012!!!!!!!!

SAVE THE DATE.

I have been speaking with people over the last few days - you know who you are (Terry, Nadine, Rachel, George, Deborah etc) and I am sure that I will have more news very very soon...

I also have meetings lined up with some really lovely people this week so watch this space!!

I have totally been inspired by Harry and I hope that we can all pull together and make this happen..

BIRMINGHAM WALKATHON RENAMED WALK FOR HARRY!!!

Well done kid!!  You've reached one of your goals!!

My trusty side-kick Kat Frost and I were lucky enough to be one of the select few invited to today's launch at Marco Pierre White's Restaurant in The Cube, and what a lovely afternoon it was.

Set in the stunning Laurent Perrier Champagne Bar, the event was held by BRMB to release the amazingly excited news.

The BRMB Walkathon has been renamed .........

We were offered tea and coffee, followed by sandwiches and wine and given time to mingle and to take in the spectacular views.

We said our hellos to the wonderful Georgie - looking amazing with her new hairdo - and were fortunate enough to meet Harry's older sister, Dani, for the first time.

They say that kids are a reflection of their parents, and I must say that Georgie has obviously done another sterling job here because Dani was a delight.  Brave, smiling, chatty, intelligent - just a lovely girl being there for her Mom, little brother and the rest of her family.

I doubt I would have been that strong.

We were then lucky enough to meet the likes of the delightful Tim Andrews from Hollywood Monster; the legendary ex-blues footballer Michael Johnson and of course our very own Ed James

We were then treated to speeches from Phil Riley, chief executive of BRMB, Radio presenters Foxy and Giuliano, Harry's consultant oncologist Dr Andrew Peet, Acorns chief executive David Strudley, and perhaps most importantly Georgie herself.

There was not a dry eye in the bar.

Talking about how the walk will be raising money for Acorns and the Birmingham Children's Hospital, she stated how she hoped that everyone in Birmingham - even those who have never used Birmingham Children’s Hospital or Acorns - will be inspired to get involved. She continued that, like most families out there, the Moseley family thought it would never happen to them, but it did and they lost their beautiful boy.

I didn't need much convincing, but I thought of Harry, his fight and determination, and soon turned my thoughts to my son, Blake...

I was in.  Kat was also.

Where do we sign up we shouted!! ;)

The walk takes place on Sunday, May 13, following a route around the outer perimeter of the city.

You can find more information on brmb's website here

We shall see you there.  We'll be the ones dressed in Harry t-shirts (I may even walk in a Spongebob Squarepants costume as I know Harry loved him...what do you think???)...

BRMB have also said we can hand out information about the Harry Moseley Ball at the finish line, so what great inspiration for you walkers eh??

Right then, where did I put that gym membership......

Lets raise some money, raise awareness and make it happen!!

HOLLYWOOD MONSTER PUSH THE BOAT OUT FOR HARRY!!!!

Tim Andrews is a legend.  I heart him already and I haven't even met him!!! ;)

Tim is the Managing Director of Hollywood Monster, one of the UK's leading signage and digitally printed graphics experts, and one of the largest in Birmingham.

Award winning, recently awarded the Best UK Wide Format Printing Company 2011, they are also obviously generous and massive Harry fans.

They have donated their boat!!! Yes you heard it!! Their BOAT!!!

The use of their boat will be up for auction on the night and should raise us some serious cash!! Thank you sooooo much.

Check it out and spread the love:

I am meeting with Tim on Tuesday to discuss if/how Hollywood Monster could get even more involved with the night.....but I think its safe to say that they have already done their bit for Harry...and more!!

See you Tuesday pal, the drinks are on me........

If you would like to donate a prize for the charity auction, please be in touch.

SARAH MOSS...YOU ARE A SWEETHEART!!

I was thinking the other day that I would need to send a Save the Date flyer very soon...

This soon turned into mild panic thinking that I would then need an invite designed...

This then developed into pure stress when realising that I would also need brochures, booking forms, sponsor boards, invoices, seating plans....the lot!!

Not only did I start to wonder where I would manage to get these from and how much they would cost, I also starting hyper-ventilating thinking that I would not find that special designer who would be able to capture the fun and friendly feeling that Harry emitted...

Boy I was wrong...STEP FORWARD SARAH MOSS.

Whilst looking at Harry's website, I saw that one of his 'helpers' was Sarah Moss Designs.  They had helped design the Help Harry Help Others logo and website.  A few emails later and the company were on board, offering all their services for FREE!!!!.  I learned that Sarah Moss was a family friend and loved Harry and his cause as much as me and the thousands of others that do also.

Clearly amazing at what they do and despite being ridiculously busy, a save the date flyer was produced within hours...and so it begins.

Thank you Sarah.  You are one in a million.

So, ladies and gents....what do you think??

It's amazing isn't it??!!!

Please feel free to spread the word....and watch this space for ticket/event information.  We are opening it up to both corporate organisations AND the public to ensure that it will be one truly spectacular event!

I am so excited.  It is all coming together and the support I have been offered so far is simply breathtaking and humbling.

Thank you Harry for inspiring me (and Kat Frost, Sarah Moss and all the other people that are helping) to do this!!
